Our daughter is 9yrs old and prematurity led to (amongst many other things) Asymmetric
Spastic Tetraparesis, bilateral dislocated hips and global development delay. Unable to crawl, stand or walk and even unable to open her left hand she had a mountain to climb and so much against her. We met Amy two years ago and she immediately was able to relate to not only our daughter but also gave incredible support to us as parents and her communication was direct, informative, and so very supportive. This included timely interventions and dialogue with consultancy and equipment suppliers. Now our daughter, because of Amy's guidance support and our daughters sheer will and strength, is using a stander, making tentative first moves in her walker and her left hand is not only open and relaxed but starting to press things. Life with injuries or disabilities is hard tough and unrelenting but having the support, knowledge base and guidance from Amy made us feel our team and our daughter could achieve anything. We could never thank her enough.
My son, Charlie, was 6 weeks old when I noticed that something with his neck wasn’t quite right. He appeared to be looking to one side frequently with a tilt in his neck. When encouraging him to turn his head, he was obviously in some pain. He had also developed a flat spot at the back of his head.
I referred my son to Amy and I am so thankful for her support. She provided me with face to face consultations, a diagnosis of Torticollis, demonstrated the recommended exercises on Charlie and was available for further support when needed. Doing exercises on a 9 week old baby’s head/neck can be quite daunting; but Amy made me feel very relaxed and developed my confidence in doing this independently. She regularly checked up on my son and provided me with further exercises as he progressed, demonstrating these on my son and continually supporting me in doing the exercises myself with confidence.
My son now has normal movement in his neck for a child of his age and no flat spot at the back of his head thankfully due to the early intervention from Amy.
I cannot commend enough the professionalism, superb service, support, treatment and care I received from Amy. I would highly recommend her to anyone requiring support from a children’s physiotherapist.
Amy has worked with our family for over 10 years and throughout that time her
dedication, professionalism and care has never altered. Her kind and attentive manner
not only puts my son’s mind at rest but the whole family. She shows great empathy and
understanding when discussing treatments and prognosis and has always delivered
such a high standard. She has played a key role in my son’s development making sure
all his needs were always met. Thank you Amy for all that you have done! She genuinely is a wonderful therapist that goes above and beyond for her clients.
Amy’s support and encouragement over many years was invaluable to us. She saw us through many challenging moments and phases through my sons changing condition
and always got us through them with positivity and a smile on her face, especially in times of despair after surgery. The relationship we built together over the years was both professional and friendly, offering comfort and support to enabling her to build a strong bond of trust. She was our rock, our guide and our saviour.
Amy has been consistent throughout my daughter’s care. She has taken care of us on a personal yet professional level in all aspects. The physio plans have always catered for my daughters needs, both physical and emotional, never pushing her too far beyond her limits. I couldn’t recommend anyone more than I could Amy, she has truly made a great impression on our lives and we are so grateful for the support we received.
Amy visited my 10 month old daughter after health visitors raised concerns regarding
zero weight bearing. Amy came to our home, explaining our daughter needed to be
comfortable in her home surroundings. What I liked most was the first thing Amy did,
was get on the floor with our daughter and play and ‘make friends’ before she started
her examinations. This resulted in a happy, easy going examination that otherwise might
have been a little overwhelming for our young daughter.
Amy was so caring and I respected everything she said. I will not forget how amazing she is, she would go out of her way to make sure my son would get the best of everything. She always gave every bit of energy into her work!
